Gone Too Soon

I like to believe God sometimes takes his best angels to secure the gates of heaven. I’ve known Oswaldo Mineros or Walle for well over four years now. Just like any freshman in high school I was scared and out of place. Walle soon became my senior mentor, he made me feel like any of his senior friends. Ever since we connected in volleyball, he was always there for me to go out for food or even if I had relationship problems. The day he passed away I felt like I had lost a brother. I was shattered. I held my sister for as long as I could remember. When I came to school I was just thinking how nobody here would understand my pain and sorrow considering nobody knew him personally at Libra other than some Libra staff. We gathered up about $3,500 through a donation website and about $1,000 at the soccer game, not including the extra money that was given by hand. But even with all the money we gathered it is never enough. The day I got to see his rested body my eyes glassed up and I couldn’t’ recognize him without his big smile and glasses. I will forever remember him, I made the pledge to place his volleyball number and name on my jersey sleeve and I will make it the best season for Walle. May he rest in paradise and forever be with us all.
