Childhood Nostalgia

It’s easy to remember something about your favorite TV show. It’s fun to reflect on childhood memories. Most TV shows we grew up watching were the same. Those who had no cable TV usually watched whatever was on PBS like Clifford and Arthur. Those with cable were able to have a variety of channels to choose from such as Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon and Disney Channel. As children, students probably watched many TV shows that they do not remember completely. They remember their favorite characters because they all had a lesson to teach. There were characters that made us want to be like them such as Spongebob Squarepants and Courage the Cowardly Dog. The character Spongebob encouraged us to love what we do like he did with making krabby patties. Courage, the cowardly dog, taught us to have courage in difficult situations even when we’re afraid. It’s characters like these who influenced us to be who we are today. TV shows are an unforgettable part of a person’s childhood. No matter what age you are, you’ll remember everything with a fond smile. Some people still watch the same TV shows they watched as children. To others, their childhood has simply never ended like senior Dianne Ayon, who, when asked if she thought her childhood was over, answered with a simple but resolute “Never.” Deep down everyone is a child at heart. As we grow older, we forget where we came from, how to have fun and how TV shows seemed to be enough to keep us happy.
