Girls Varsity Volleyball Team Bumped out of Playoffs

The Marquez girls varsity volleyball team made it to the playoffs, ranking ninth place in Division III with a total of nine wins and nine losses.

The volleyball team had prepared for their first playoff game on November 10. These lady Gladiators were ready to take on the challenge, however they were not able to defeat the Los Angeles High School Romans. They prepared by constructing new attacks and defensive methods. Running was also a form of preparation for these girls because it helped improve their stamina. Crucial team players such as Jasmine Raya (setter), Shayla Aguilar (outside hitter), Allison Rodriguez (back-row passer and outside hitter), Jennifer Corona (outside hitter middle and back-row passer), Fanny Valencia (front-row hitter and blocker), and the libero being Brianna Ramirez made the Marquez volleyball team capable of going further into playoffs.

These crucial players did an outstanding job against the Romans, but unfortunately their glory came to an end. Marquez had a devastating loss 1:3 against the Los Angeles High School, but our Gladiators still stand high and proud.
