As of December 3 and 4, people have reported seeing many strange objects falling from the sky all over California. This has been a major issue for the police. On Friday December 5  LAPD Chief  Charlie Beck stated, “Please don’t be alarmed with this, it is just rain not an alien invasion.” Other similar reports from the FBI also state that this event is not an alien invasion; it is just rain, like this one from FBI director James Comey: “We assure the public that the multiple reports of the UFO’s are not real, but only large rain drops, so no need to worry about a thing.” At first the LAPD and FBI thought that some random person was pulling a prank, but with time the LAPD got over 10,000 reports of strange objects in the sky, and the FBI got only half of those reports, making both of these departments address the issue in California.

The FBI and LAPD believe that many people in California reported this sighting because the lack of rain in the state. The National Weather Association reported that California has not received a drop of rain in the past 9 months, further proving  the FBI and LAPD’s statement.
