Libra Student taken to Hospital after eating Wingstop
by Joseph Hernandez

On November 13 the Libra class of 2016 held a fundraiser at Wingstop, and although the fundraiser was successful, one Libra student felt ill after eating the hottest flavor on the menu, “atomic” wings. According to Wingstop the student was the only person to order this flavor during the whole fundraiser. Mauro Cruz, the student pictured, was checked into Jesucristo Memorial Hospital after eating these atomic wings a few hours later.
Mauro experienced symptoms such as nausea, headaches, and a fever before he checked into the hospital. Doctors identified his symptoms as radiation poisoning. The medical staff connected Mauro’s radiation poisoning to eating the atomic wings. The student received potassium iodide for the radiation poisoning, and is recovering. When put into the body, potassium iodide prevents the radiation from being absorbed by your body.
An anonymous eyewitness, a fellow classmate of Mauro, said the atomic wings were glowing green, but Mauro still ate them. “The wings had a green glow, and he[Mauro] started complaining about the wings being very hot, but he kept eating them.” An investigation on the flavor by the FDA(Food and Drug Administration) is currently taking place because of Mauro’s illness. Because of the investigation, the “atomic” flavor is being temporarily discontinued, and there is no sign whether these “atomic” wings are going to return to Wingstop.
